The free economic zone, organized by decree of the President of January 12, 2017, plays an important role in the development of industry and job creation in rural areas, effectively using raw materials and local infrastructure.
84 investment projects worth more than $402 million are being implemented here. Production was launched on 55 projects worth $313 million, employing 4,328 people. These enterprises produce 220 types of products – carpets, gas stoves, leather shoes, hygiene products, electrical equipment, light industry products. In 2020, goods for 1.2 trillion UZS were produced, export supplies for $30 million were carried out.
The Head of the state got acquainted with the work of Kamalak Tekstil LLC and talked with the workers. The enterprise, located in the Mergancha neighborhood of Urgut district, produces woven and tufted carpets, carpet products, synthetic yarns and artificial turf.
The enterprise is equipped with modern energy-efficient equipment from Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, France and Germany. 328 people have been employed here.
Last year, 59 percent of the products produced here for 170 billion UZS were sold on the domestic market, 41 percent were exported. This year, it is planned to export products worth $7.5 million.
Instructions were given to expand localization, organize similar enterprises in other districts, and increase the number of jobs.
The President also visited Sam Electro Service LLC.
The enterprise is capable of producing 260 thousand electric ovens, 150 thousand gas stoves under the “Ideal” brand and accessories per year. Modern energy-efficient equipment from Germany, Turkey and China are installed.
In 2020, equipment worth 58 billion UZS was produced here, 32 percent of which was exported. This year, it is planned to supply goods worth $2 million abroad.
The importance of expanding the range of products, training specialists in the production and maintenance of modern electrical equipment was noted.
Construction and installation work on 29 projects worth $90 million is underway in Urgut FEZ. More than 2 thousand people will be employed as a result of the implementation of these projects.
21 additional projects for $144 million have been developed and it is planned to implement 33 promising projects for $206 million.
The Head of the state instructed the responsible persons to effectively use the potential of the economic zone, not to slow down the pace of project implementation.
