
On April 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the President of the World Aquatics and Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Husain Al Musallam, and the Senior Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani.
The discussions focused on current issues related to the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in sports, the support of the Olympic movement, and the creation of conditions for developing both professional and grassroots sports in Uzbekistan.


Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the Leader of Uzbekistan.
The high practical cooperation achieved with the mentioned international sports organizations was noted with satisfaction.


Special attention was given to strengthening the partnership with the World Aquatics Federation, implementing programs to train specialists, and developing modern and accessible aquatic sports infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
Discussions also covered the organization of major international competitions in the country, including the Assembly meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia and significant events of the Association of National Olympic Committees.
