President of Uzbekistan concludes his working visit to Kyrgyzstan
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has concluded his working visit to Bishkek.
The main event of the visit was the Head of State’s participation in the anniversary meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The meeting reviewed the results of the SCO’s 25 years of development and considered priority areas for further cooperation.
The President of Uzbekistan put forward several initiatives to deepen industrial cooperation, develop transport connectivity, advance digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and strengthen food, water, and energy security. Following the meeting, the Bishkek Declaration and a package of important documents to expand cooperation in key areas were adopted.
The Leader of Uzbekistan also addressed the SCO Plus meeting focused on the United Nations’ role in shaping a fair multipolar world order. The Head of State emphasized the need to preserve the United Nations’ central and coordinating role and proposed developing the SCO Plus format as a platform for interregional dialogue.
On the sidelines of the summit, talks were held with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif. Meetings were also held with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor.
As part of the visit program in Bishkek, the Head of State, together with his spouse, attended the opening ceremony of the Sixth World Nomad Games.
Following the events, the President of Uzbekistan and his spouse were seen off at Manas International Airport by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev and other officials.
The President of Uzbekistan returned to Tashkent.
