As previously reported, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is attending the first meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the new convocation.

The organizational issue of electing the Chairman of the Senate and his deputies was also considered at the meeting.

In accordance with Article 101 of the Constitution, the President nominated Senator Tanzila Narbayeva for the post of Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.

It was noted that Tanzila Narbayeva has extensive experience in state and public administration, and thanks to her practical work in this position over the past period, the situation related to ensuring the rights of women and children and protecting their legitimate interests in the country has significantly improved.

At the same time, Senator Sodiq Safoyev was nominated for the post of First Deputy Chairman of the Senate, and Senator Amanbay Orinbayev was nominated for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Senate.

The meeting continues. Issues related to organizing the Senate’s activities are being considered. The dialogue between the President and senators has begun.
