The 14th round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and France took place in Paris.

The Uzbekistan delegation was led by the head of the Department for Cooperation with European Countries and EU Institutions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oybek Shakhavdinov, the French delegation was led by the Continental Europe Director of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Brice Roquefeuil.

The parties discussed in detail further steps in the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, in particular the issues of intensifying the political dialogue, filling them with practical content, strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, expanding the legal framework for interaction, as well as the schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels.

The French side expressed gratitude for organizing the highly successful visit of President Emmanuel Macron to Uzbekistan on November 1-2 this year, which was called unprecedented in the history of bilateral relations.

Particular attention at the talks in Paris was paid to actively promoting economic diplomacy, including attracting French investment and technology to implement projects in Uzbekistan, and increasing exports of goods produced in Uzbekistan to France.

Proposals to increase cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, particularly in education, cultural heritage, and healthcare, were considered.

Mutual interest was expressed in deepening interaction within international organizations.

Views were exchanged on current issues of a regional and international nature.

An agreement was reached to hold the 15th round of political consultations in 2024 in Tashkent.
