On December 13, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov. This has been reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The head of the neighboring state emphasized that culture is important in strengthening friendly ties between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, which are linked by a common history, language, culture, and traditions.

“Centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborliness unite our people. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, bilateral ties have reached a new level, and culture plays a key role in strengthening this partnership”, Sadyr Zhaparov noted.

The President recalled that during his state visit to Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyzstan Culture Days in Uzbekistan were held in the cities of Tashkent and Bukhara, which included a gala concert dedicated to the friendship between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, exhibitions, and film screenings.

The Leader of the country expressed confidence that the upcoming Uzbekistan Culture Days in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 will be an essential event for further rapprochement between the people of the two countries.

Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated Ozodbek Nazarbekov on being awarded the title “People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic”, noting his significant contribution to developing cultural ties and strengthening friendship between the countries.

“Your creative path inspires many. The musical evening with your participation, which will take place on December 15 at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Toktogul Satylganov, will be another vivid example of our common cultural harmony”, the President said.

In turn, the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov expressed sincere gratitude for the honor and high appreciation of his activities, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening fraternal relations between the people of the two countries.

The Minister noted that the state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan has become an essential milestone in the history of friendship and strategic partnership between people. This visit has opened a new page in the development of bilateral relations.

“Uzbekistan is happy to host events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov, a great writer and cultural symbol of the Kyrgyz people, as well as a beloved writer in Uzbekistan”, Ozodbek Nazarbekov emphasized.

He also noted that the leading theaters of Uzbekistan, together with their Kyrgyz colleagues, are actively working on creating a joint theater project that will become a symbol of the creative interaction of people of the two countries.
