Our Boxers Are the Best in Asia and Oceania
The Uzbekistan National Boxing team, by having won 5 gold and 2 silver medals, took the first place in the AIBA Asian/Oceanian Olympic Qualification Event held in Qian’an, China.
The Uzbekistan National Boxing team, by having won 5 gold and 2 silver medals, took the first place in the AIBA Asian/Oceanian Olympic Qualification Event held in Qian’an, China.226 boxers from more than 30 countries competed in this prestigious tournament for prizes and licenses to participate in the XXXI Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from August 5 to 21 this year. At the tournament, our athletes have once again demonstrated the potential of the Uzbek boxing school.
The Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On preparation of athletes of Uzbekistan for the XXXI summer Olympic and XV Paralympic games of 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)” dated February 25, 2013 has served as an important factor for our national team in achieving great successes.
Hasanboy Dusmatov, Shahobiddin Zoirov, Shahram Giyosov, Elshod Rasulov, Rustam Tulaganov rose to the highest step of the podium in the competitions of their weight classes. Bahodir Jalolov was awarded with a silver medal. All our boxers received Olympic licenses.
Yodgoroy Mirzaeva took second place in her weight category and won the Olympic license. She will be the first female boxer in our country to participate in the Olympic Games.
