As previously reported, Uzbekistan delegation attends the Congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), in Barcelona. The event brought together more than 30 thousand oncologists, scientists, physicians from more than a hundred countries of the world.

Within 5 days, on the basis of the annual ESMO congress, thousands of specialists exchange experience and knowledge, share the latest results of clinical research, primarily in order to improve the quality and accessibility of medical care for cancer patients. Dozens of master classes, educational lectures and opportunities for further career development of young oncologists are presented on this multidisciplinary platform.

Within the framework of this major event, Uzbekistan delegation made a presentation on the state and development prospects of the oncological service of the country. Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology of Uzbekistan Mirzagaleb Tillashaykhov noted that about 15 million patients with malignant neoplasms are registered annually in the world, more than 100 thousand cancer patients are registered in Uzbekistan. 

The development of the sphere is also facilitated by the establishment of close relationship with international organizations, leading clinics of foreign countries, and the constant exchange of experience with the best specialists of the world. Every year, more than 50 specialists take advanced training courses at the expense of the state in clinics in Russia, the United States, Korea, Turkey, Poland, India, Belarus and others.
