A few days ago, Bekzod Mamatkulov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMB HOLDING, met with the Ambassadors of Italy and Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan at the company’s headquarters.
The meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan, Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, took place in a friendly atmosphere. It included detailed discussions on the supply of products to the Italian market, in particular, dried carrots, onions, and pumpkins, as well as fruit and vegetable purées and jams. The current status and future prospects of the saffron cultivation and processing project in Jizzakh region, implemented by the Uzbek-Italian joint venture BMB-Opera Zafferano, were also reviewed.
At the meeting between Mr. Bekzod Mamatkulov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, discussions focused on expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation and increasing the volume of agricultural exports.
To expand trade relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the parties discussed opportunities to increase the volume of deeply processed agricultural products supplied to the Kazakh market by the Holding’s enterprises. This includes vegetables frozen using shock acoustic freezing technology, fruit purées, and the diversification of the product range.
Prospects for implementing joint projects, including those related to the cultivation and processing of saffron, were also explored. The discussions covered experience-sharing in production and the establishment of new enterprises.
An agreement was reached to fully utilize the two countries’ geographical proximity and transit potential and establish efficient transport corridors for delivering the Holding’s products to third-country markets via Kazakhstan, particularly to Russia, China, and the European Union.
