Meeting with the Ambassador of China to Uzbekistan
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
During the talks, the parties discussed priority areas for further development of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.
The parties noted with satisfaction the progressive strengthening of relations between Uzbekistan and China, the intensification of interregional cooperation, and the maintenance of regular and meaningful political dialogue at the highest levels.
It was noted that bilateral relations are based on the principles of mutual respect, trust, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation, and mutual support for the key interests of the parties.
As noted, the Eighth Meeting of the China – Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee was held at a high level in Beijing on May 7, 2026.
Specific measures have been agreed upon to deepen cooperation in the political, trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics, energy, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Special attention was paid to developing joint infrastructure projects, expanding mutual trade and investment, strengthening regional connectivity, and cooperating in high technology, agriculture, security, and poverty reduction.
The parties also confirmed their willingness to step up humanitarian exchanges and cooperation between regions, universities, think tanks, and media.
The Chinese side reaffirmed its support for Uzbekistan’s path of independent national development and its willingness to continue contributing to the implementation of socio-economic reforms under the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy.
The parties noted their willingness to continue close working contacts on current issues on the bilateral agenda.
