Tashkent hosted a meeting of Uzbekistan-Tajikistan Commission on International Road Transport.

The participants of the event considered the possibility of resuming bus service between the two countries. This has been reported by Khovar News Agency.

The parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of cooperation in international road transport, the execution of contracts signed in this direction. The main attention was paid to the issue of expanding Uzbekistan–Tajikistan–China transport corridor.

The bus service established between the two countries on May 15, 2018, was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The gradual resumption of traffic began last year. Now buses of Asian Express Transport Company will run daily on Khujand – Tashkent – Khujand route.
