Karakalpakstan hosted a solemn event dedicated to January 14 – Defenders of the Motherland Day and the 28th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Participants laid flowers at Grieving Mother Monument in Nukus. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Jokargy Kenes and the Council of Ministers, Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, Emergency Situations of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, territorial units of the National Guard, State Security Service, Prosecutor's Office, State Customs and Tax Committees, general public, Armed Forces veterans and youth.

A festive event dedicated to Defenders of the Motherland Day and the 28th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater named after Berdakh.

Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, Head of the Territorial Military-Administrative Sector M. Yerniyazov read out the greeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in connection with the 28th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Defenders of the Motherland Day.

The event ended with a festive concert.
