A festive event dedicated to the International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis and the upcoming New Year was held at the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center under the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was held under the motto “Culture is our strength, solidarity is our unity”.

The celebration was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, state and public organizations, figures from the culture and arts, media representatives, and members of the Azerbaijani diaspora residing in Uzbekistan.

The official part of the event began with the performance of the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Delivering congratulatory remarks, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev, congratulated the participants on the occasion and emphasized the importance of humanitarian and cultural initiatives in strengthening mutual understanding between peoples.

Akif Marifli, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center, noted that thanks to the efforts of the leadership of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, bilateral relations based on mutual trust and respect have reached the level of alliance, which contributes to the active development of humanitarian and cultural cooperation.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony honoring creative groups and public activists who have helped promote Azerbaijani culture in Uzbekistan.
