International experts to be involved in risk management and customs auditing
A meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was held at the State Customs Committee.
The event was attended by Sherzod Muminov, Head of the Department for International Cooperation of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Koba Gvenetadze, IMF Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, and Giorgi Kandelaki, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tax Committee.
The current state of cooperation between the State Customs Committee and the International Monetary Fund, ongoing joint projects, and priority areas of cooperation were considered in detail.
The parties exchanged views on improving customs administration, introducing international best practices and expert support, and applying management methods. The importance of developing mutually beneficial cooperation and expanding the practical implementation of joint projects was emphasized.
Issues related to attracting international experts by the end of July to improve the risk management system, customs audit, and the activities of customs laboratories were discussed within the framework of the technical assistance programs.
The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation, consistently implement joint initiatives to introduce modern management mechanisms in the customs system, and support ongoing reforms.
