As previously reported, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, paid an official visit to Türkiye at the invitation of President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
As part of the visit, the Uzbekistan delegation is holding meetings with several Turkish organizations and companies. In particular, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov, reported that agreements were reached following the talks to implement joint projects worth $105 million.
“President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Türkiye is of great importance”, the minister noted. “This is due to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, the active exchange of technologies, and the deepening of interaction in the agricultural sector. Türkiye’s scientific developments, including in seed production and nursery farming, are already yielding positive results in Uzbekistan. Several projects in these areas are currently being implemented in the country. During the visit, meetings were held with several companies, following which agreements were reached on projects worth $105 million”.
According to the minister, in recent years, Türkiye has significantly expanded the use of artificial intelligence-based agricultural machinery and has accumulated extensive practical experience. During the negotiations, agreements were reached to localize these technologies in Uzbekistan and introduce them into domestic farm operations.
In addition, the sides agreed to cooperate in plant protection and the production of next-generation fertilizers.
