By the end of 2021, the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan will be supplied with special equipment designed for the automatic power control system of a research nuclear reactor.

The IAEA’s Technical Cooperation Department, within the framework of the current technical assistance project “Increasing nuclear safety and the effective operation of a research nuclear reactor of the Institute of Nuclear Physics”, has signed a contract with Russia’s SNIIP-SYSTEMATOM for the supply of special equipment designed for automatic power control systems of the INP research nuclear reactor.

The equipment, which is scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2021, will increase the safety and reliability of the nuclear reactor and increase its utilization rate.
