How will Uzbek technology enter the Middle East market?
Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan – Middle East Tech Summit.
Organized as part of ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026, the summit focused on strengthening technological and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Middle Eastern countries.
The event served as a platform for dialogue to connect Uzbekistan’s technology ecosystem with investors, technology companies, and institutional partners in the Middle East. One of its key objectives was to increase exports of information technology services, help local companies enter new markets, and strengthen international cooperation.
Middle Eastern and North African countries currently account for nearly 5 percent of Uzbekistan’s information technology services exports. The summit explored ways to increase this share, build new partnerships and launch joint projects.
The summit also explored opportunities for Uzbek startups and companies exporting IT services to enter Gulf markets. Participants proposed new mechanisms for export, investment, and technological cooperation.
The summit program covered Uzbekistan’s potential as a technology partner for Middle Eastern companies, practical examples of investment in digital infrastructure, presentations from Central Asian startups, and the experiences of Middle Eastern companies operating in Uzbekistan.
The event also featured a panel session on developing the Uzbekistan – Middle East technology corridor, a memorandum-signing ceremony, B2B meetings, and networking events.
