To foster a healthy competitive environment among young people, enhance their intellectual potential, and strengthen their modern knowledge, Uzbek Geological Exploration JSC held the national stage of the “Most Active Young Geologist of the Year” and “Most Active Young Engineering and Technical Specialist of the Year” competition at a high level on 24 October this year.
In this contest, the most talented, knowledgeable, and dedicated young specialists, selected from all central expeditions and laboratories under the Company, competed for the grand prize.
The competition’s main objective is to identify and support young personnel, the key driving force behind the digitalization and transformation of the geological industry in New Uzbekistan. It also aims to provide young people with meaningful leisure activities and create an open platform for bringing their bold scientific initiatives and innovative ideas into production.

Each nomination focuses on areas of strategic importance to the industry’s future:
“Most Active Young Geologist of the Year” – this nomination assessed young geologists’ theoretical and practical skills in rock analysis, identifying promising new deposits, and expanding the mineral resource base. It allowed young specialists to showcase their ability to use the latest geoinformatics tools and modern international standards in mineral exploration.

“Most Active Young Engineering and Technical Specialist of the Year” – as advanced foreign technologies and high-tech drilling equipment are introduced across the industry, this nomination highlighted participants’ technical language proficiency, use of innovative solutions, and ability to improve productivity.
Following an intense competition, the winners and runners-up in both categories were announced and formally presented with valuable souvenirs, diplomas, and cash prizes by the Company’s management and the Trade Union.
At the event’s conclusion, Shamsiddin Alimov, Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbek Geological Exploration JSC, heard the specialists’ proposals and feedback. He emphasized that efforts to support young people comprehensively, strengthen “mentor – apprentice” traditions, and nurture a new generation of intellectually capable personnel would continue consistently.
