As part of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, a presentation was held for the first volume of the publication “Multi-Volume Collection of Turkic Folk Literature”, prepared by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in Baku on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The event was attended by representatives of UNESCO, the Organization of Turkic States, as well as cultural figures, scholars, and media representatives.

The first volume of the “Multi-Volume Collection of Turkic Folk Literature” features the most notable heroic epics of the Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkish, and Uzbek peoples.

Future volumes are expected to include all genres of folklore. The project was prepared for publication by leading folklorists and specialists in the Turkic world. This grand initiative comprises masterpieces of oral literature that reflect the rich and diverse traditions, arts, and spiritual values of the Turkic peoples and serves as a solid foundation for further cooperation with UNESCO.
