As part of an official visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, a delegation led by Hermann Färber, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity of the Bundestag of Germany, visited the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Region under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the delegation attended a presentation on the Center’s research and demonstration projects. Information was also provided on initiatives to restore ecosystems and improve living conditions in the Aral Sea region.

Members of the delegation became acquainted with experiments and practices conducted at the Center’s scientific and production site, where innovative technologies for ecosystem restoration and for adapting agriculture to climate change are being developed and tested.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for further cooperation in science, ecology, and agricultural technology, and expressed mutual interest in strengthening the partnership between Uzbekistan and Germany.
