Today, in the ancient city of Khiva, within the legendary walls of Ichan Kala, the folklore performances of the International Bakhshi Art Festival have commenced.

The atmosphere here is truly festive: all residents, from the youngest children to older people, are actively involved in this important event. The city’s streets are filled with joy, music, and vibrant energy, as locals celebrate with tourists from various parts of the world, including Italy, France, Türkiye, Russia, Mongolia, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

As part of the festival, the play “The Happiness of Bakhshi” was staged at the Ark Amphitheater, captivating the audience with its colorful production that conveyed the spirit and wisdom of folk traditions.

These days, Khiva is an actual living museum under the open sky, where history and modernity have come together in a vibrant and unforgettable celebration of art and culture.
