First Ladies of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan hold a meeting

A meeting took place in Tashkent between Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, the First Lady of Uzbekistan, and Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan.

As part of the joint program, the First Ladies toured the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. The Center’s exhibitions offer a broad overview of history, from ancient civilizations that once thrived in Uzbekistan to the growth of modern New Uzbekistan.

Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Pre-Islamic Civilizations Hall, as well as exhibitions on the First and Second Renaissance periods and the New Uzbekistan Hall. They also observed museum exhibits showcasing the long-standing historical and cultural connections between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

Following the visit, the First Ladies toured the Quran Hall, the exhibition's spiritual and architectural centerpiece. Its most notable artifact is the Mushaf of Uthman, one of the oldest surviving manuscripts of the Holy Quran. This monument of Islamic written culture, dating back to the 7th century, is included in UNESCO’s Memory of the World International Register.

In a warm conversation, they emphasized strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, highlighting their shared history, cultural traditions, and spiritual values that bring the two brotherly nations together.
