On January 29, 2026, an online conference titled “Uzbekistan – Pakistan: Strategic Partnership, Connectivity and Sustainable Development in a Changing World” will be held. The conference is timed to coincide with the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The event is organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Islamabad Policy Research Institute. Representatives of government bodies, leading analytical centers, research institutions, and educational organizations from both countries will take part in the conference.

Participants will discuss the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, focusing on strengthening political dialogue, expanding economic ties and industrial collaboration, developing transport and logistics infrastructure, and advancing initiatives in human capital development.

Particular emphasis will be placed on formulating practical proposals that can give new momentum to the bilateral partnership and unlock the potential for the countries’ joint development. The recommendations are expected to make a significant contribution to the preparation and substance of the upcoming high-level negotiations.
