An exhibition showcasing Romanian national costumes featuring elements of contemporary clothing design inspired by traditional Uzbek attire has opened at the State Museum of Applied Arts in Tashkent.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Romania in collaboration with the State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan and Uzbek fashion designer Markhamat Umarova.

Speaking at the exhibition’s opening ceremony were the Director of the State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan Ismat Yusupov, the Ambassador of Romania Daniel Cristian Ciobanu, and fashion designer Markhamat Umarova.

The Ambassador of Romania emphasized the significant potential for cooperation with Uzbekistan in all areas, highlighting the successful development of bilateral relations in recent years and noting that culture serves as a bridge of friendship between the people of the two countries.

The exhibition will continue until July 2, 2025.
