Today is the Day of Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with the Law “On the Prosecutor’s Office”, the main tasks of the Prosecutor’s Office are to ensure the rule of law, strengthen the rule of law, protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, and prevent offenses.
Last year, comprehensive assistance was provided to more than 7,000 families in the “iron registry”, and employment was provided to over 3,000 unemployed citizens. At the initiative of prosecutors, more than 700 job fairs were held, where about 10 thousand unemployed citizens were employed. All measures taken play a significant role in ensuring societal stability and preventing offenses and crimes.
In 2024, the Prosecutor’s Office applied almost 160,000 control documents based on identified facts of violation of the law, as a result of which the violated rights of 360,000 people were restored. During the control measures and preliminary investigation, compensation for damage caused to citizens and state interests was ensured, and almost three trillion UZS were collected from the guilty parties.
The leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office pay special attention to ensuring legality in the fuel and energy sector, which is of great importance in the population’s daily life, and the necessary measures are being taken to solve the identified problems. This winter, more than 100 thousand law violations were identified during raids.
Giving primary importance to open dialogue with the people, solving the problems of citizens, consistently continues work on timely consideration of incoming requests and restoration of violated rights. Special attention is paid to the comprehensive support of entrepreneurs, who are an essential pillar of the economy, and eliminating illegal interference in their activities and bureaucratic barriers. In particular, almost 30,000 entrepreneurs, including foreign investors, received practical assistance. As a result of the restoration of the activities of about 8,000 inactive companies, the layoff of more than 10,000 people was prevented. About 22,000 cases of illegal interference in business activities were identified and eliminated, and the violated rights of almost 16,000 entrepreneurs were restored.
Measures to combat offenses and crime are regularly carried out. As a result of the measures taken, more than 3,000 mahallas are free of crime, and almost 5,000 have a stable crime situation.
Control has also been strengthened in the operational investigative activities. More than 31,000 crimes committed under unclear circumstances have been solved, and almost 8,000 people who were wanted have been detained.
