Orzigul Kazikhanova, Chair of the Senate Committee on Youth, Women, Culture and Sports, met with a delegation from the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States in trade, economic, and legal sectors, particularly the implementation of joint initiatives and programs aimed at advancing women’s entrepreneurship.

The senator provided information on the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan at the initiative of the Head of State to support entrepreneurship, particularly women’s entrepreneurship, and the favorable conditions being created for this purpose. It was especially noted that both the quantity and quality of women-led enterprises are growing, and women’s economic activity is on the rise.

Members of the delegation highly praised the efforts being made to implement democratic reforms and expand women’s rights and opportunities, and expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in this area.

The parties also discussed prospects for collaboration in supporting women’s participation in entrepreneurship, ensuring their economic independence, and enhancing social protection.
