A delegation from the University of Chicago led by Tom Ginsburg, a professor at the University of Chicago Law School, visited Uzbekistan to study the legal system.

At some higher education institutions, a meeting was held with students who were informed about educational opportunities in the United States. It was noted that the basis of global development is education and research.

Representatives of the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the National Center for Human Rights, its interaction with international organizations, government bodies, and other agencies, and learned about the main tasks of preparing national reports and the ongoing research work in improving mechanisms for ensuring human rights.

Information was provided about the mechanism and practice of ensuring and protecting human rights in Uzbekistan, and reforms carried out in this field. The guests were particularly interested in the effective implementation of state policy in human rights, recommendations of international and regional structures for the protection of human rights, the development of national action plans, the implementation of the provisions of international agreements into national legislation, and law enforcement practice.
