
A solemn event dedicated to March 8 – International Women’s Day was held at the Uzbekistan International Forums Palace.
The event was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, and the Legislative Chamber, as well as women working in various ministries, agencies, and organizations. Among the guests were recipients of state awards, recognized by a presidential decree this year, active women leaders, and laureates of the Zulfiya State Prize.
A festive address by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the women of Uzbekistan was broadcast via video transmission.
As the Head of state noted in his congratulatory message, women bear great responsibility and concern. Expanding opportunities for our young women to receive higher education and opening new doors for knowledge-seeking sisters is an important initiative on the noble path of making Uzbekistan an even more peaceful and prosperous country while further enlightening our people.
During the musical program, renowned artists and young performers presented songs celebrating happiness, spring, the renewal of Uzbekistan, and the admiration for our beloved sisters and mothers.
The solemn event was attended by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Committee for Family and Women, Zulaykho Mahkamova.
