Negotiations to expand collaboration with representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Qatar were held at the Research Institute of Criminology of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Jassim Mohammed Al Obaidli, Director of the Security Research and Studies Center at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Interior of Qatar, representatives of relevant departments of the Ministry of Interior of Qatar, as well as Qatar’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Hassan bin Hamza Hashim.

The parties exchanged views on the scientific and practical experience of the two countries in combating crime, as well as on the implementation of joint scientific and practical research projects aimed at an in-depth study of criminal activity.

Important issues were discussed, including the organization of scientific internships for employees of the Institute of Criminal Studies at research institutions under the Ministry of Interior of Qatar, as well as the publication of scientific articles and theses in the field of criminology and crime prevention in the academic journals of partner countries.

The parties also considered establishing in Uzbekistan a Qatar Criminology Study Office, aimed at the systematic study and implementation of Qatar’s advanced practices in early crime prevention and the development of criminological activities.

The sides agreed to place on the agenda the issue of signing a bilateral memorandum, to prepare and submit a draft of the memorandum, and to include essential matters related to priority areas of cooperation.
