Cooperation with Cyprus in academic exchange to be expanded

The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Uzbekistan Kypros Giorgallis.

During the meeting, issues related to the consistent development of bilateral relations, further activation of interparliamentary dialogue, and the expansion of cooperation in the fields of education, science, think tanks, and academic exchange were discussed in detail.

The parties considered opportunities to develop institutional cooperation among higher education institutions, including expanding student and academic staff exchanges, implementing joint educational programs and research projects, and establishing partnerships within European academic programs such as Erasmus+.

Readiness was expressed to consistently develop cooperation in the interparliamentary, educational, and scientific spheres, to use existing opportunities effectively, and to support mutually beneficial initiatives.
