
Samarkand hosted the International Women’s Forum titled “The Great Silk Road in Our Hands – Cooperation Between Uzbekistan and China in Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, where issues of supporting and advancing women’s initiatives were widely discussed.
The forum was attended by Zulaykho Mahkamova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairwoman of the Committee on Family and Women, Ms. Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, and President of the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the SCO, as well as the Vice President of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, representatives of the Shaanxi Provincial Women’s Federation, about 40 women entrepreneurs, and deputy ministers of Uzbekistan.

As noted, respect for human dignity and the protection of the rights and interests of women are priorities in the state policy of New Uzbekistan. Today, the women of Uzbekistan are not only the spiritual guardians of the family but also authors of innovative and inspiring ideas, major projects that serve the good of humanity, active entrepreneurs, and a driving force in political processes.

Following the forum, productive agreements were reached on implementing projects to support women’s initiatives in innovation and entrepreneurship. The forum also contributes to expanding interregional cooperation under the “Women of the Silk Road” format and implementing joint projects between Shaanxi Province and regions of Uzbekistan. More than 10 agreements were signed within the framework of the forum.

Based on the negotiations and discussions held, a final Declaration was adopted.
