“Before, English language books had no interactive materials and extra resources, but things have improved recently with the introduction of books such as Cambridge’s Guess What and Prepare series to schools”, says Azimjon Khusanov. – Through partnership with Cambridge we’re introducing Linguaskill – a test that better reflects new ways of learning and working and is fit for the future.

“If a teacher in Uzbekistan can demonstrate C1 level English, they are eligible for a 50% salary increase. There are also benefits for reaching B2 level up to 40%. The government has developed a list of approved tests to demonstrate language skills, and teachers can apply for costs to cover these” notes the author.
