Bukhara and the United States expand economic and tourist ties

Bukhara region’s Hokim Botir Zaripov met with Heather Byrnes, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The American side was briefed on the region’s investment potential, economic opportunities, and tourism resources, as well as on projects implemented jointly with foreign partners in agriculture, education, and other areas.

Activities in the region to develop industry, process agricultural products, expand the service sector, and build modern infrastructure open new prospects for foreign investors.

During the meeting, participants paid special attention to cooperation prospects in the tourism sector. The Bukhara region holds a special place in world civilization history as one of the most important centers of the Great Silk Road. Its rich cultural heritage, shaped over the centuries, is of great interest to American tourists.

Increasing tourist flow from the United States to Bukhara, further promoting the region’s tourism brand internationally, developing modern tourism infrastructure, and creating new tourism products are crucial priorities.

The importance of implementing new initiatives with the participation of American companies and investors to strengthen trade and economic ties and expand cooperation in education and culture was also highlighted. Partnership in education is particularly important for transferring modern knowledge and technologies to the younger generation, introducing advanced foreign experience, and training the next generation of specialists.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation, effectively using available opportunities and potential to strengthen relations between Uzbekistan and the United States at the regional level and to implement new promising ideas.
