Azerbaijan participates in the International Maqom Art Forum
The Third International Maqom Art Forum, organized under the auspices of UNESCO and ICESCO, is being held in Namangan.
It brings together almost 250 culture and arts representatives from 80 countries, including members of international organizations such as UNESCO, ICESCO, CIS, SCO, the Organization of Turkic States, TURKSOY, TURKPA, and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. The attendees also include culture ministers, diplomats, renowned artists, and creative groups.
The forum program features scientific and practical conferences, concerts, masterclasses, and creative discussions.
The Republic of Azerbaijan is represented at the forum by a delegation led by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli. This participation is seen as a significant effort to promote mugham art globally, advance the heritage of mugham and maqom as a collective cultural asset, and foster humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
