
Today, artificial intelligence offers numerous opportunities, including for people with disabilities. For example, it is used to create voice aids, such as audiobooks for the visually impaired, and various applications are also available for those with hearing impairments.
A team of students from the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) presented their development – the AI-based application “Sahiya” for deaf people – at the global Huawei ICT Competition in China. This achievement earned them third place in the competition.

Teams from countries such as Bahrain, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia also won awards in various categories.
The young participants showcased advanced skills, thereby confirming the region’s rapid growth of digital knowledge.
