Anthony Taylor designated as referee for the Uzbekistan vs. Colombia match
The opening set of group-stage matches is ongoing at the 23rd FIFA World Cup, hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
For the first time in its history, Uzbekistan’s national team is participating in the world championship finals. Under Fabio Cannavaro’s leadership, the team is in Group K, facing Portugal, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Uzbekistan is set to play its first match against Colombia on June 18 at Mexico City’s historic Azteca Stadium. The game will start at 07:00 Tashkent time. FIFA has appointed well-known English referee Anthony Taylor to officiate the match. His fellow officials, Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn, will serve as assistant referees. Costa Rica’s Juan Calderón will act as the fourth official, with Juan Carlos Mora, also from Costa Rica, serving as the reserve assistant referee.
