Ankara to host OTS Summit
The 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will be held on October 29-30 in Ankara, Türkiye.
The summit is expected to focus on economic integration, transport and logistics, energy, digitalization, tourism, and expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Ahead of the summit, Kürşad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), responsible for relations with Turkic states, held a briefing for media representatives, outlining the organization’s economic potential and future initiatives.
According to him, the combined economic potential of the eight OTS member and observer countries is strong enough to compete with the world’s ten largest economies. Their combined gross national income increased from $359 billion in 2002 to $2.5 trillion in 2025. This figure is projected to reach $2.64 trillion in 2026.
Kürşad Zorlu confirmed that an agreement had been reached to establish a unified e-commerce platform for the Turkic world to promote trade.
The organization’s countries also have significant potential in the energy sector. In particular, member and observer states account for 10.6 percent of the world’s proven natural gas reserves.
According to foreign media reports, the summit will also consider initiatives to strengthen tourism and cultural ties. These include introducing a common museum pass and establishing dedicated service counters at airports for citizens of member states. The heads of state are also expected to adopt the Ankara Declaration and identify priorities under the Turkic World Vision 2040.
