A VAT refund system is being launched for international visitors' shopping in Uzbekistan

According to the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign tourists will now be refunded the value-added tax (VAT) on goods purchased under the Tax-Free system.

A special service area has been established at Urgench International Airport to verify purchases by foreign visitors and process VAT refund documents.

The funds will be refunded to the tourist’s bank card within three business days after leaving the country. The minimum purchase amount for a VAT refund is 300,000 UZS.

These measures are designed to promote tourism, boost trade volumes, and enhance the quality of services offered.
