A captivating atmosphere that enchants tourists
Bukhara, a city renowned for its unique architectural monuments and rich cultural heritage spanning centuries, leaves visitors impressed not just by its sights but also by its distinct atmosphere infused with national spirit.
Now, every visitor arriving in the city can both view Bukhara and listen to its traditional musical motifs.
To implement the tasks assigned during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s meeting with representatives from culture, art, and literature, as well as in accordance with the Decree “On large-scale measures to develop the spheres of culture, art, and literature” of June 2, 2026, active efforts are underway in Bukhara region.
One of the initiatives involves regularly playing national melodies and songs at the regional international airport, railway stations, hotels, restaurants, and tourist sites. This helps make visitors’ first impressions of Bukhara even more positive and memorable.
What is especially charming is that at airports and railway stations, visitors are welcomed with captivating maqoms, folk melodies, and examples of national music, as if inviting them into the centuries-old world of Uzbek culture. The music creates a warm atmosphere and immerses guests in a space where history and traditions blend seamlessly.
National motifs enchant the city’s hotels, fostering a unique atmosphere. As tourists relax, they hear melodies played on Uzbek folk instruments, classical compositions, and folk songs, deepening their appreciation of the country’s rich spiritual heritage. In restaurants, visitors enjoy national cuisine while experiencing aesthetic pleasure from Uzbek musical art.

Experts suggest that establishing a musical ambiance in tourism is a highly effective strategy commonly employed worldwide. Memorable experiences are shaped not just by the scenery, but also by the sounds and emotions encountered. Therefore, the initiative in Bukhara is transforming into a dynamic showcase of national culture.
The songs and melodies heard in the streets, hotels, and tourist areas of ancient and timeless Bukhara serve as a reminder: the grander a region’s history, the more vibrant and distinctive its culture and art.

Everyone visiting Bukhara to experience national music leaves with not only vivid memories but also lasting impressions.
