Today, a branch of the Power Supply Department of Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov (TSTU) was inaugurated at the “Employee Retraining and Professional Development Center of Regional Electric Networks JSC in Tashkent.

A ceremonial event was held on this occasion, attended by industry officials, specialists, veteran energy professionals, and students. 

During the event, Sadriddin Turobjonov, Rector of TSTU, Alvar Gaybullayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Regional Electric Networks JSC, and other speakers highlighted the ongoing integration between industry and education in line with the instructions given by the President.

Officials emphasized that during a video conference chaired by the President on June 20, 2024, tasks were outlined to improve engineering education, establish university departments within partner-enterprises, and implement a dual education system. 

“To fulfill these presidential directives, we have opened a branch of our university’s Power Supply Department at Regional Electric Networks JSC. The main goal is establishing a dual education system based on the “network – enterprise – university” chain. Here, third- and fourth-year students can apply their theoretical knowledge in real production processes. Additionally, they will communicate closely with professors, industry specialists, and engineers, which will help enhance their professional skills”, said University Rector Mr. Turobjonov.

According to Alvar Gaybullayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Regional Electric Networks JSC, more than 27,000 qualified specialists are working in the system. The “Employee Retraining and Professional Development Center” branch is crucial in enhancing their skills and professional competencies. 

“Today’s initiative marks an important step in developing dual education based on the “network – enterprise – university” chain. The newly established department branch at Regional Electric Networks JSC allows students to gain education in a real work environment. This initiative not only helps improve the qualifications of young engineers but also enhances the overall process of workforce training in the industry. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to undergo practical training at our Automated Electricity Metering Center”, Mr. Gaybullayev said.

After that, officials and industry specialists got familiar with the conditions created at the Power Supply Department branch.

As part of the event, a demonstration was also presented by the rapid response teams of Tashkent City Electric Networks LLC.

A branch of TSTU’s Department established at Regional Electric Networks JSC
