The 25th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) is scheduled to begin on June 9, Xinhua News Agency reports.

The SIFF includes more than 10 forums, touching upon topics such as international cooperation, film education innovation, the integration of technology and film, and science fiction films.

The Golden Goblet Awards Ceremony will be held at the Shanghai Grand Theater on June 17, while the city-wide screening event will add the finishing touch to the Festival on June 18.

This year’s Golden Goblet Awards consists of five competition categories: feature-length films, new Asian talent, documentaries, animations and short films.

According to Xinhua, founded in 1993, SIFF is a competitive global event driven by Shanghai’s efforts to become an international cultural hub.
