Uzbekistan progresses into a new phase of education and science development
The 58th International Chemistry Olympiad in Uzbekistan is gaining prominence because of its scale and prestige. This esteemed event reflects significant educational reforms, a strong focus on youth, and teachers’ dedication.
The participants and mentors at the Olympiad shared their opinions on the conditions in Uzbekistan and how the event was organized.

Carlos Mauricio Castro Acuña, a mentor from Mexico, highlights that the most talented and educated young people participate in such Olympiads. Hosting this Olympiad in Uzbekistan demonstrates the country’s strong commitment and reflects the Head of State’s focus on providing high-quality education for youth.
Maruf Addin from Bangladesh mentioned that Uzbekistan is renowned as the birthplace of great scientists. He praised the Olympiad’s opening ceremony for its outstanding organization and festive atmosphere. He emphasized that chemistry is essential not only for understanding substances but also plays a crucial role in industries like pharmaceuticals, ecology, environmental protection, medicine, and manufacturing. He expressed confidence that, having prepared thoroughly, their team is poised to achieve excellent results.

Alexander Zuraev, mentor from Belarus, stated that they spent a year preparing students for the event. The Belarusian team performed well at the Abu Rayhan Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad. Recently, Uzbekistan has been emphasizing the development of education, which is vital to the country’s bright future.
Yesun Kim from Ghana describes Uzbekistan as a unique nation at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, boasting a rich cultural, scientific, and historical legacy. This impression was immediate upon arrival. The subject Olympiad offers a distinctive platform to assess the knowledge and intellectual abilities of talented youth, encouraging the growth of logical thinking while motivating students to explore scientific mysteries and aim for great achievements. Such competitions not only identify top participants but also lay a foundation for future scientists and experts. Kim believes the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad in Uzbekistan will uncover many talents who will proudly represent their homeland.

João Marcelo Alves Aires, a student from Brazil, described the opening ceremony of the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad in Tashkent as very wonderful and full of high energy. He noted that the previously held Abu Rayhan Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad was well-organized at a high standard. Such events motivate individuals to improve themselves, seek new knowledge, and serve as a communication platform for learning from peers and making new friends.
