Affordable tuition and accommodation costs for students

The National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports that in the first half of 2026, 21,042 foreigners came to Uzbekistan for study. Among these, 9,207 were from Turkmenistan, making them the largest group. Other notable countries include India with 3723 students, Tajikistan with 1915, China with 951, and Kyrgyzstan with 834.

This figure grew by 11,500 people, more than doubling (2.2 times) from the same period last year.

During the specified period, Uzbekistan welcomed students from various countries, including 689 citizens of Pakistan, 603 from Egypt, 526 from the Republic of Korea, 367 from the Philippines, and 302 from the United States. Additionally, 1,925 foreign nationals came from other nations.

Uzbekistan is increasingly appealing to international students due to lower tuition and accommodation costs. Meanwhile, fewer Uzbek citizens are choosing to study abroad.
