Uzbekistan and the United States representatives discuss developments in the water sector
As part of the United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development taking place in New York, the Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Khamrayev met with representatives of foreign companies.
During a meeting with RS Capital Engineering’s management, the parties talked about modernizing Uzbekistan’s water sector, advancing high-tech manufacturing, and enhancing investment cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to improving the energy efficiency of pumping stations and to establishing the production of pumps, turbines, generators, high-voltage electric motors, and other modern electrical equipment in Uzbekistan. Prospects for introducing advanced technologies and expanding technology transfer were also considered.
During the meeting, detailed information was presented on the large-scale water-sector reforms initiated by the President. According to Temur Bakhranov, Chief Specialist of the Ministry’s Department for International Relations and WTO Affairs, the parties addressed prospects for implementing the Piskent Technopark investment project, valued at $267 million.
Following the meeting, RS Capital Engineering’s management was invited to participate in the World Water Forum and the Water Tech Expo 2026, both of which will be held in Samarkand this autumn.
