Strategic cooperation with French company reaches a new level
During the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, Akmal Jumanazarov, Director of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation, met with a delegation from the French company Bureau Veritas led by its Vice President, Karine Kutrowski.
The parties discussed modernizing the technical regulation system to ensure that products and services comply with international standards, as well as cooperation on certification, assessment, and testing infrastructure. The sides emphasized the importance of introducing international experience and advanced practices into the national system.
Special attention was given to the introduction of the national conformity mark – the Conformity Uzbekistan (CUz) system. It is expected to play an important role in assessing product compliance with international standards, including ISO, EN, IEC, ASTM, and ASME.

The harmonization of the system with the European CE marking system was also considered, as it will enhance the competitiveness of domestic products in foreign markets.
An agreement was reached to expand cooperation in the certification of quality management systems, the advanced training of specialists, and personnel development in the field of international standards.

Following the negotiations, the establishment of joint laboratories to test children’s toys, low-voltage equipment, pressure equipment, and personal protective equipment was identified as a priority. The parties agreed to develop a roadmap to systematically organize cooperation. This document will serve as the basis for the phased implementation of joint projects.
