Chess: Sindorov's team to face Nepomniachtchi's team today
Today, September 6, in the next stage of the ongoing Tech Mahindra Global Chess League tournament in Bangalore, India, the "FYERS American Gambits" team, led by Javokhir Sindorov, will face off against the "Ganges Grandmasters" team, led by Ian Nepomniachtchi.
In two matches held yesterday as part of the Global Chess League, Sindorov's team was victorious.

In the first match, the "FYERS American Gambits" team—comprised of Javokhir Sindorov, Bibisara Assaubayeva, Nihal Sarin, Daniil Dubov, Sara Khadem, and team manager Marc'Andria Maurizzi—defeated the "PBG Alaskan Knights" led by former world champion Viswanathan Anand with a score of 10:4. In the second match, they triumphed over the "Triveni Continental Kings" chess players, captained by Alireza Firouzja, by a score of 14:5.

Notably, in his individual encounters, Javokhir Sindorov first defeated Viswanathan Anand 3:0. In the next encounter, he drew 1:1 with Alireza Firouzja.

On the eve of today's matches, Sindorov's team is leading the six teams with 24 points. The teams in the following positions, "Alpine APL Pipers" captained by Magnus Carlsen and "Ganges Grandmasters" led by Ian Nepomniachtchi, each have 10 points.
This tournament, with a total prize fund of 1 million US dollars, will continue until September 12.
