Uzbekistan’s IT reforms presented in Japan
As part of the GovTech Tokyo 2026 forum held in Japan, reforms underway in Uzbekistan in the fields of information and communication technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the modernization of the public administration system were presented.
During the session, Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Karimjonov and Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies Akihiro Sakurai presented the country’s priority areas for digital development.

Participants became familiar with major digitalization projects underway in Uzbekistan.
Prospects for cooperation in digital transformation, infrastructure development, improvement of the “Electronic Government” system, and advanced training for IT specialists were discussed.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs of Estonia, the Minister of Environment of Taiwan, the Deputy Governor of Tokyo, and representatives of several other countries and international organizations.
The forum became an important platform for showcasing Uzbekistan’s achievements in digital transformation, exchanging best practices, and forging new partnerships.
