Qu DONGYU: “The world community recognizes stability in Uzbekistan”

Samarkand hosts the International Conference on Food Security.

At the conference’s opening ceremony, FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu congratulated the participants and focused his attention on the fact that this prestigious event is being held in Uzbekistan for a reason.

– I am convinced that Uzbekistan is a place where the best and highest quality food products are grown in the region, – the distinguished guest said.

He also noted that Uzbekistan's current political and socio-economic stability is rightfully recognized in the region and by the world community. Moreover, remembering that this sacred land is the cradle of ancient civilizations, he expressed confidence that it will reach this level again thanks to today’s efforts and the development process. He also focused on the fact that at this stage, the development of agriculture at the level of modern requirements and the achievement of food security are significant. In this, the role of sunny Uzbekistan is essential, without which it is impossible to imagine progress in the agricultural sector on a global scale.
