Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea expand cooperation in agriculture
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Abduzukhurov met with a delegation led by the Director General of the Rural Development Administration of the Republic of Korea (RDA) and the Director of the Korea Program on International Agriculture (KOPIA).
Issues related to developing rice farming in the country, breeding high-yielding varieties using scientific approaches, introducing advanced agricultural technologies, and strengthening food security were discussed during the negotiations.

The parties emphasized that the projects implemented under the cooperation between the International Rice Research Institute and KOPIA play a key role in introducing innovative approaches to agriculture.
Special attention was paid to the Republic of Korea’s experience in developing applied agricultural technologies and in developing the regional agricultural sector.

The parties also exchanged views on expanding scientific research in rice and animal husbandry, strengthening the exchange of innovative technologies, and further developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
