Prospects for cooperation with Wabtec discussed

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Rafael Santana, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wabtec.

The meeting focused on modernizing and expanding Uzbekistan’s locomotive fleet in line with the development of the country’s railway infrastructure and its transit potential.

The parties discussed locomotive deliveries, long-term maintenance services and the involvement of U.S. financial institutions. Opportunities to establish locomotive maintenance facilities, produce components, and train specialists in Uzbekistan were also discussed.

The discussions also covered setting up a service center for mining equipment used by mining enterprises, as well as cooperation on diesel generator sets.
